I have been licensed as an LCSW for nearly two decades.
I started my career in the city of Chicago as a crisis intervention specialist working in the emergency room where I acquired experience in acute trauma and psychiatric assessments. I've worked with varying diagnosis such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety to victims of violence and childhood trauma. My experience led me to University of California at San Diego in their mental health clinic working both as a clinician and a supervisor to the interns. I transitioned from UCSD to working with an Employee Assistance Company, again, as both a clinician and a supervisor of the clinical staff.
I am a Certified EMDR therapist and use it frequently with clients who have anxiety disorders as well as those with various types of trauma history. I work with several modalities including CBT, Psychodynamic and EMDR. I work with individual adults as well as couples.
My goal as a therapist is to help clients gain insight into the issues that bring them to therapy and find new, more effective ways to live their lives.
